With Developer Express (Dev Express or Dev Ex) being mentioned in our forum of recent, I thought it might be a good idea to explain our relationship with this developer product. Data Central (DC) is written entirely in c# (a late generation Microsoft supported language), and c# is a MS.Net framework language. Built into that language are basic and powerful platform tools that allow us to exchange data over the internet, exchange data with multiple POS sources, and to exchange data with both browser and smart clients. Also included are all of the basic tools to build and deploy windows forms and reports.
In the restaurant business you can either purchase chicken cleaned and prepared, or you could buy the bird and clean and prepare it yourself. The analogy for our business is we purchase software tools from Developer Express that allow us to deliver state-of-the-art windows forms (WinForms) and dynamic reporting tools. We purchase the source code for these tools so that we can promise you complete control of the destiny of our application, and the tools that deliver our application.
Lately, it has become obvious to some of our custom reporting customers that we have a very powerful reporting engine, that engine a tool component of Dev Ex. We take a lot of pride in how we have been able to organize the professional quality tool and deliver it such a way that it can be utilize by both beginner and professional report designers alike. So when you read about the accomplishments of Dev Ex in Data Central, you will know that not only did we select Microsoft .Net to drive leading edge solutions to your desktop, we also selected Developer Express as part of our component solutions, and that our development team (Alik, Irina, Sasha, Aleksey, Artyom, and Maxim) have orchestrated these tools into a single, really powerful tool for management and reporting of your restaurants. I hope you agree.
PS. Coming soon - we hope to WOW you with a couple new integrations; one is with our new OLAP reporting parnter Tableau, and the other with our new HR Onboarding Parnter Emerald. Stay tuned.
